Telehealth

Understand when a remote visit may be a useful part of care.

Telehealth uses a remote connection to support a clinical conversation. It can be useful for selected follow-up, education or review, but it cannot provide every examination, test or treatment. Ask the clinic whether a remote appointment is available and appropriate for your concern.

Before Booking

  • Explain the reason for the visit and any symptoms that may require an examination.
  • Confirm whether video, telephone or another format will be used.
  • Ask about insurance coverage and expected charges.
  • Request language or accessibility support in advance.

Getting Ready

Choose a private place where you can speak openly. Check the device, internet connection, camera and sound before the appointment. Keep your medicine list and questions nearby.

Use only connection instructions supplied by the clinic. If you have difficulty joining, contact the office through its verified number.

What Happens Next

The clinician may recommend an examination, testing or another appointment. Ask how instructions will be shared and whom to contact about follow-up. A remote visit does not guarantee that a prescription will be issued.
